Supervision

Supervision, to me, means a collaboration between the supervisor and the supervisee, and my role within this relationship is to encourage, support, and work with the supervisee, to promote growth within their practice. Being a therapist myself, I understand how important the supervisor/supervisee relationship is, and my role is to ensure that the supervisee understands that just because I hold the title of “supervisor” it does not mean that I am the expert. Together, our relationship will promote the growth and understanding that is needed to create a healthy, knowledgeable and informed practice.

However, that said, I consider that safe and ethical practice is paramount and I will challenge the supervisee when and where I feel it is necessary.

As a therapist, I have worked with both male and female adults who have experienced sexual abuse and trauma.  I have worked with clients with relationship difficulties, bereavement, anxiety, depression and addiction and childhood neglect. I have trained and have experience in working from a person centred modality, and have also studied Polyvagal Theory and recently received training in Rewind Therapy and Internal Family Systems. By training and having an interest in many different modalities and principles, I have amassed a diverse knowledge and experience of the many difficulties that clients bring to sessions.

Although my core principles lie in Person Centred Theory, I have found that it is useful, for some clients, to integrate other methodologies into their healing.  It is through this diverse learning that I feel that, as a Supervisor, I can help the supervisee to expand their knowledge and encourage their own growth which ultimately can enable growth within their clients.

Peter Hawkins and Robin Shohets Seven-Eyed model of Supervision informs the way that I work, alongside the six necessary and sufficient conditions of Person-Centred Therapy. This way of working puts the needs of the supervisee and the client at the centre of the supervision relationship.

My rates are £50 per hour or £65 for 90 minutes of individual supervision.  I offer reduced rates of £40 per 60 minute session for students, subject to approval from the training institute.

I work face to face in my room at Hygge House in Thurmaston on a Monday and Thursday.  I also offer online work via Zoom on a Tuesday and Wednesday.
